Is it out yet?
Yes — Willowkeep is available now on Google Play for Android. Free to download. iOS is not yet available, but you can leave your email if you'd like to hear if that changes.

Will it cost money?
Free to start with everything you need for the daily care loop. Optional upgrades are available for those who want more AI — see the pricing below.

Why no iOS yet?
It's a one-person project and Android came first. If iOS interest is strong on the wishlist, it moves up the queue — that's genuinely how we'll decide.

Is my data really only on my phone?
Yes. Plants, photos, care logs, and journal notes live only on your device. Willowkeep has no server-side account and no way to read your data. If you uninstall, it's gone — that's a feature, not a bug.

What happens if I lose my phone or switch devices?
You can export a full backup from within the app at any time. Keep that file and you can restore your grove on a new device. We don't hold a copy — which means the export is genuinely yours.

How does BYOK billing work?
With the Keeper tier you paste in your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. Willowkeep stores it encrypted on your device and uses it for AI features. You pay your AI provider directly at their rates — Willowkeep charges a one-time fee for the app itself.

Can I use it without any AI features?
Absolutely. The Free tier gives you pixel-art companions, weather-aware reminders, and a full plant journal with no AI involved. Scan and chat are there when you want them, invisible when you don't.

What permissions does the app need?
Camera (for leaf scans), location (for local weather — used only on-device, never transmitted), and notifications (for watering reminders). No contacts, no microphone, no background data collection.
